Stockpilers ill at ease
A trend has been identified involving those who didn’t feel they coped well in the Covid-19 alert level 4 lockdown last year and those who stockpiled. Research New Zealand has published a report looking at New Zealanders’ response to life in the lockdown. It made a “Coping Index” — with the lowest 20 per cent classed as hu“worriers” and the top 18 per cent classed as “copers”. Managing partner Emanuel Kalafatelis says 55 per cent of “worriers” began stockpiling before the lockdown, compared with nine per cent of “copers”.
