Kids’ welfare is key

Children must be at the centre of conversations around ending family violence, a children’s advocacy group says. Save the Children welcomes the Government’s new community consultation approach but fears kids may not have their voices heard. They say 90 per cent of child victims know their abuser, and may feel guilt about accusing them. Executive director Jacqui Southey says children may not be believed when coming forward.
