People are being offered an opportunity to thrive this winter with an early morning yoga and breakfast workshop in Martinborough tomorrow.

The event is organised by three women who live in South Wairarapa and is a chance to stretch away the winter blues.

Rise and Shine is a yin yoga class followed by a nutrition demonstration creating a breakfast bowl.

Event co-organiser Charlotte Harding said the idea arose out of a conversation with Sarah Percy at Martinborough business Tea Retreats.

Helen Hickson, a yoga teacher at Martinborough centre ‘Love and Core’ will run the yoga class, while Percy will organise the breakfast bowls.

The entry-level yin yoga class is suitable for beginners.

Attendees are asked to wear comfortable clothing. Yoga mats will be provided, and the room heated. Pre-registration online is required, and spaces are limited.

The event is at 8am at the Supper Room at the Waihinga Centre in Martinborough.

The group hopes to expand the concept to a weekend retreat in the spring. • The cost is $47 and online registration is at enquiries@tea-retreats.co.nz.
